Nomination: Professor Debbie McNamara

Debbie McNamara is a consultant colorectal surgeon with a special interest in gender diversity in surgery. Her work has elucidated the barriers that exist for women in surgical careers and opportunities for improvement.
Debbie is a great teacher and mentor. Her main areas of interest are rectal cancer surgery and healthcare quality improvement.
She chaired the RCSI working group on gender diversity in surgery that published the PROGRESS report in 2017.
