A true trailblazer. Following international fellowships including Harvard and The Mayo Clinic, she pioneered surgical treatment for peritoneal tumours in the UK and developed the Colorectal and Peritoneal Oncology Centre at The Christie from a single practitioner to a multidisciplinary team including specialist surgeons oncologists, nurses and radiologists.

She was instrumental to establishing national specialist services commissioning for pseudomyxoma peritonei.

She has worked with international partners to establish an accreditation programme for peritoneal surgery through the European School of Peritoneal Surface Oncology.

She is uncompromising about the standard of care provided to all patients and is an exemplary role model as well as an inspirational surgical trainer and mentor.
